Marshmallow originally grew in salty soils but, in the progress of this plant can grow in humid conditions. This plant is commonly found in southern and western Europe, western Asia and northeastern North America. Characteristic of this plant, among others, tapered roots pale yellow, long and thick, with the view that tough yet flexible. Short-stemmed leaves are round, with irregularly toothed margins. Flowers have five reddish-white petals.

Ingredients:
Flowers contain flavonoids and sap, and leaves contain coumarin, salicylic acid, phenolic acids, as well as musilago and flavonoids. Marshmallow root crops also contain sap, and asparagines, tannins, and polysaccharides.

Usefulness:
Marshmallow is used in traditional medicine to treat asthma, bronchitis, coughs, indigestion, stomach ulcers and inflammation of the skin. In addition Marshmallow is also have the ability to fight infection and boost the immune system.
